Drum Workshop, California-based manufacturer of DW Drums, pedals and hardware has announced the launch of its latest brand, 3 Drumsticks. The new drumstick company boasts a complete line of many of the most popular stick sizes available today, including 7A, 5A, 5B and 2B. Each size is available in four distinct tip options, olive, acorn, ball and olive nylon. In addition, 3 sticks feature premium North American hickory construction for maximum durability, a computerized robotic quality control process for optimal consistency, proprietary satin finish for improved feel and playability and three sticks per sleeve rather than the traditional pair that most stick manufacturers currently offer.
"We've unveiled a completely new concept in drumsticks and it all began with our rigorous four-step computerized quality control process. Once we decided to specify the characteristics of each stick right on the product itself, we knew it would be a great idea to offer drummers a matched replacement stick, just like a spare tire, and 3 Drumsticks was born," explains Jim DeStefano, 3 Drumsticks Brand Manager.
3 Drumsticks are available at selected retailers worldwide and related promotional products can be purchased online at www.dwdrums.com or www.3drumsticks.com.
(Los Angeles, CA)— World renowned drummer and percussionist Sheila E. joins the 3 Drumsticks artist roster. After trying 3 Drumsticks for the first time several months ago, Sheila announced to DW Chairman Don Lombardi that she would be honored to play 3 Drumsticks exclusively.
Part of the Escovedo family, Sheila became a solo artist in 1984 after being discovered by Prince just one year earlier. Her single "The Glamorous Life" went top ten and she later joined Prince's band for the "Sign O' the Times" tour in 1987. Most recently Sheila has been a member of Ringo Starr's All Starr Band and heads up her own charity organization to help inner city and at-risk children.
"We're thrilled to have such an established artist such as Sheila E. associated with our newest brand. It tells the world that we make a professional quality stick and that's something we're very proud of," comments Jim DeStefano, 3 Drumsticks Brand Manager.
(Oxnard, California)— The first-ever winner of the 3 Drumsticks online giveaway was recently announced. The sweepstakes was part of Drum Workshop's launch of its brand-new stick brand and website.
The winner is David Moore of Port Charlotte, Florida, a working drummer and newfound fan of the sticks. He chose 5A Nylon and was thrilled to have been picked for the prize, which included a case of sticks and a selection of new '07 3 Drumsticks clothing. The 52- year-old commented, "I'm enjoying the sticks so much. The balance and weight are so consistent within each set, it's scary."
DW Director of Marketing, Scott Donnell, further explains, "There's been a tremendous response to this new line of sticks and we really want to capitalize on that. Why not reward the drummers that visit our site with a chance to win an entire case of sticks. This is something that we'll continue to do for some time."
